Surge Voltage Protection for Field Equipment

21 Oct

SURGETRAB surge voltage protection devices are for all commonly used standard signals that are installed directly to the field equipment. This type of installation saves time and money, and an additional connection box for accommodating surge voltage protection is no longer necessary.

The protective circuit is well packaged for use in harsh industrial environments. Housing is provided by a robust hexagonal pipe made of V4A stainless steel with the option of ½” NPT or M 20×15 threading. The corresponding approvals Ex(i) or Ex(d) are available for use in intrinsically safe and pressure-capsulated environments.

The protective circuit is the result of a combination of high-performance coarse protection and quick-responding fine protection. The arresters with their different connection threads are attached directly at the sensor head and offer protection up to four signal conductors.
